How To Never Forget Your Password!
Hi everyone! This is Jasmin, the data intern at Minnesota DFL, taking over this week's email.
During my time here, I have learned so much, and one of them is account security. In the past, I would write down my password on my computer's sticky notes, which at times meant scrolling through all the way to the bottom just to find that specific password. This brought frustration and it also encouraged me to make my passwords simple and easy to remember.
I learned that by having a randomly generated passwords and using a password manager, it can significantly decrease the chance of account breaches and security threats. The password manger tool that I have been using is "LastPass". LastPass has been life-changing because now I won't have to dig through all my notes, and worry about writing them down somewhere, so I don't forget!

Social Media Data Collection
Social media has become a significant part of our everyday lives, both politically and personally. We often share with our friends about the ideas we have and promote our political ideas through posts, likes, and shares. As such, social media profiles often give us an enriched view of voters. The DFL Data Team is excited to present the Social Media Data Collection program. We will be presenting a series of trainings to on-board users to this program. The Social Media Data Collection live training will cover how, why, and what social media data is valuable for the MN DFL VAN!
We will offer live Social Media Data Collection training from 5:30-7:35PM monthly! This training is required in order to enter social media data. Usually this is the third Tuesday or Wednesday of the month. Here are those dates:
September 22 October 19 November 16 December 14* *Due to the office closing for Winter Break on December 18th, our December training doesn’t follow the normal schedule

DFL Data Open Hours We know that DFL Data trainings may not fit everyone's schedule. As an alternative, we hold space for questions and concerns from our users every Friday from 11am - 1pm. You're encouraged to sign up for open hours here! Open hours will be hosted on Zoom and you will receive a Zoom invitation after you sign up. This space is intended to be collaborative, so the time will be open for multiple folks at once. We look forward to meeting with you!
